Cameron , Osborne , Johnson, May, Sunak , Tudor Evans , Luke Pollard , Johnny Mercer , the list just goes on and on, .... big fat Smack head Gabbi ,that weird serial pegger janee or whatever her name is , who just so happens to have a parent in the shekinah and gets such great exposure in the herald if she coughs up a word or two or drops her knickers in a field for a photoshopped pic with a filter , or any of these fucking council issued pets and mascots - whether they call themselves mindfulness, nonsense zoo ....or any of the fucking evangelous that sift around with rainbow flags....calling themselves the best vegan restaurant in the world - cosmic kitchen - my arse pa ha ha ha....it's all a bloody recruitment drive , the kids of the upper middle class need ideas , like the generals of the first world war needed cannon fodder , this is belonging, isn't that the current army recruitment slogan , right after the pandemic isolated everyone and instilled such a bizarre series of direction less and eventually contradictory psi ops experiments that everyone came out of that a little frazzled , why not , join a council led initiative , some fun , gay , blue haired , environmentalist movement , build back better , fuck it join the army !! sort of an informal ' art group ' ...its more like a way of life !but its been ratified by ofsted , not that i personslly hold much consideration for the notion .... a way of life that has kept me sane through some of the most tumultuous of random occurances, has encompassed an enormous body of work and taken me to the far flung reaches of geography and fringe social demigraphics that have resulted in individuals travelling thousands of miles to come and ' do art ' for a day or two with this particular temperamental old burn out .... apparently there is a marketability to my eccentricity that is undeniably commercially viable ... or something 🤔

The Decision making process

lifes big decisions , can sometimes seem a little overwhelming ! personally , i like to whittle down these things through a sketchbook process - take buildings for example , i have worked on tens of buildings over the years , hundreds if you include all of the shortlists , designs and drafts that have led to yet another version of , the original Arts Hole international pop up initiative ....

whether its a buyers or a sellers market there are perils and pitfalls , and it has always been a hard sell " yes i want to use your building for commerce but i don't want to pay you any money for it while im testing the markets " . originally it was hard enough , twenty odd years ago .... now of course , battalions of uni students , ladened with debt are all setting up pop ups , the problem is , that they have been funneled into the idea that in order to do a ' pop up ' in one of these bourgeoise inner city redevelopment drives ...they need to apply to the local authority for a pot of publuc money in order to do so , to cover the rent and rates and overheads ...jeezus i despair, at least my original model was based on the idea of " if it proves to be commercially viable - then the landlord earns a commission of that trade " - to take on a sprawling ramshackle building in a fringe and cheap part of town- fix it up , do an exhibition , make it livable and presentable and commence trade .... oh well , just one of the things that are sent to try us i suppose ! anyway , despite this new wave of government funded competition, when i am taking on a big decision , like taking on a new building in a new country i like to whittle my shortlist down to a column A, a column B. and a third column, a wildcard column C . column A , has all the whistles and bows , its as close to ideal as could be imagined , its usually a little bit over budget ( outlays - transport - renovation or even nominal overheads ) and competition for it is fierce and ruthless ... Column B. is a good all rounder but the concessions and mitigations are more obvious - generally a bit more work than would be ideal ....but its left in the running after the sharks have taken out column A . The Wild Card , the wild card is as the name suggests , the most unusual option - if the fates will conspire to remove column A and Column B then something closer to reckless abandon - a boat - a windmill - a hot air balloon - a field with an old barn on it ... recently , a friend of mine suggested that we set up a youtube channel and a tik tok to cover the proposed upcoming renovations, we set it up to coincide with a brand new digital launch for the various lines of ' merch ' that the brand has come to represent and then do a sort of mini series to cover the day to day running of ' the Arts Hole - Funny Farm ' and ' the Institute for Alternative Learning ' ... food for thought ...

Full Circle

the Arts Hole - Full circle ...CCA ...BV ...etc ...ect ...basically a bunch of old hippies and renegades , far too radical for convention or collectives ,and fed up with being ostracised from standardized academia for personal feelings about brexit and pandemics, incomptence in management and bent government enterprises ... are doing this ... or this will be part of that , whichever way it works out ...

ill put some more blah, blah, blah together in the next little while , but seeing as i am not looking to fulfill any grant funding criteria .... impress any investors with prospectus talk , pander for the attentions of one demographic or another or more or more ...

so , i suppose its a bit like a pay to participate in the safari of absurdities ive managed to turn my humble little life into 🤔 a bit like Monets Giverny , but a bit more spread out .... but the last ten year transient hiatus certainly had an effect .... but not do much as to disuade us from keeping some skin in the game ...

planning permission for a full sized AT-AT , well why not ......? the Original Arts Hole international pop up initiative - Funny Farm 2024 ! obviously , boxing day is a big deal in the hunting community - and it got me thinking , instead of getting on horses and chasing foxes about with packs of hounds , or shooting pheasants ...what if , instead of all of that , these vast country estates , intesad , re adopted the old habit of building follies , but with semi modern concepts , AT- AT's and sauron towers and so forth , it struck me , it would in fact be much more fun , much more spectator friendly , much more community engaging if say ...you dressed up a bunch of pigmy fainting goats as ewoks and , just for arguements sake , a bunch of alpaccas as wookies and had two teams of humans armed with paintball guns , charging around the woods attempting to lay seige to a concrete AT-AT in the middle of a pine forest ....big flasks of piping hot magic mushroom hot chocolate would be the traditional but optional accompanyment for such an escapade i think 🤔
