Further to your request for a specific project that I have been involved in managing through to completion that was both challenging and rewarding, quite honestly I don’t think that I have ever been involved in a project that didn’t maintain an unwavering aspect of both attributes !!
But a specific case scenario:
so I have been sending out a few applications of late and one of the very few responses I managed to get back was from someone claiming to be a
After being specifically selected to assist in the management of an Erasmus Youth Exchange Programme on the German border comprising over 60 individuals from 10 different countries for the international greenalize edition youth exchange initiative …dumped in the middle of nowhere in the middle of a blizzard that lasted a week to discuss the parameters of climate changes impacts on food production and diet!!
‘ The Arts Hole on Tour’ ….
Hhmm or maybe the time that I executed a month long arts festival in the prominent NDSM werf of Amsterdam entitled ‘’ Mad Dogs and Englishmen ‘’ , comprising over 120 separate exhibitors from all across Europe and a 24 hour exhibition schedule for the full duration an event that welcomed a conservatively estimated 4,000 participants , and encapsulated the political elements of the closures of the free spaces within the municipality and also highlighted the importance of ecologically sustainable management practices within the artistic disciplines and indeed as broad a spectrum as to include urban planning and legislation formation proposals for eco manufacturing .
The real kicker for this one was that with the looming geo political uncertainties of brexit , all of the funding that was secured for this particular project was pulled at the last minute …. almost rendering the entire project and 5 months planning as a redundant enterprise!
Originally the project was set up between myself and a prospective ‘partner ‘(who had actually made some rather grand logistical pledges that were never realised)
Fortunately a little tenacity and resourcefulness saved the day the project was seen through to completion and now looks set to be repeated on a bi yearly basis, this was all achieved without a single loan / grant or subsidy !!
So there is a rough sketch of one of the projects that would induce a sedated rhino to an anxious wreck … that despite all of the adversity was completed well within budget and adhering to all constraints and parameters as required by law !
The more projects that I have been involved with , the more I have identified that the issue really isnt a well-articulated well thought out battle plan ( although of course statgy is key to the successful completion of any campaign) …. its being able to keep the shit together when the bombs start dropping …. and that kind of feels like a metaphor for life
