lets talk money

Just the other day I put out a public statement online, expressing my feelings about Plymouth and to be specific its current management systems !! my open suggestion for the management organizations ( Plymouth City Council ) to get in touch to discuss a viable consultancy … or simply admit their gargantuan successive and compounding failings and disband !!

the response was an article in the herald ..on the front page ! I just happened to notice ( because I certainly don't buy the publication ) that Plymouth city council were having a bit of a whinge about funding cuts killing them … or some other laughable nonsense !! and old tudor was attempting to give himself a little slap on the back for the fact that out of an 8billion deficit … they had managed to make up about 500million from council tax and a few more quid out of their own ' entrepreneurial endeavours ' ha ha ha ha … like the mall , no doubt … and that student housing architectural masterpiece .. and what the fuck is with that big black and white tin box they are building over the old bus station ??….. jeeez !!! are you fucking retarded ???

and does a public organization engaging in ' entrepreneurial endeavours '' … doesn't that stink of back handers ??? or is it just me ?

so anyway Plymouth city council have got no money … ha ha just like the rest of us !!( decade of credit crunches / recessions / tories / referendums and brexits ) yet they keep kicking out these outlandish notions of a millbay transformation … a drakes island resort investment !and I read the other day … an urban forest !! ….. these people are fucking retarded ?? …don't get me wrong, I often walk across this whole city and it is never a pleasure … the odd disjointed poorly maintained greenspace breaks up the heavily polluted and hideously grey monotony … so more green spaces is absolutely necessary !!! …. but how can even begin to justify stuffing an artificial woodland way out there in marsh fucking mills ???

the estate agent generation has enabled the percentages that can be made on projects like this … the driver behind the project itself !! the age of the charlatan indeed !!

so I was passing  toys r us the other day … or the former toys r us and what you have there is a terrible shame !!!

here you have a huge and substantially structural multi use space …. and you are signing it over to charity shop furniture stores ??? unbelievable !!

Plymouth has too few iconic buildings, just a smattering of pre war edifices remain of this historic naval city … but I for one think that what has been cobbled together out of a complete mish mash of stylings, has now its own kind of familiar charm , that although grotesque it its state of urban decay ….does have a kind of potential !

the post war 1950's 1960's prefab architecture that was initially put up as a kind of quick fix after everything was levelled in the forties, although it is exceptionally tired these days it does maintain an appealing charm , there are echoes of interwoven architectural styles under the heavily modifies shop frontages , and the rear access / fire access to the properties  are really a very charming , and albeit run down could easily be refurbished to offer a council led initiative to offer housing / vocational improvements within the societal fabric of the city itself

the council love a big project ...with millions of pounds worth of allocable funding ! so that salaries can be assigned to utterly useless assholes and percentages can be ' earned ' by greedy estate agents!! its a failure of a paradigm !! and its quite incredible to me that its been allowed to go on so long ?!

Plymouth is a city of around a quarter of a million people ! and really the city itself is made up of several smaller cities and townships , all of which kind of homogenize into this single grey sprawling thing ! there is the naval bases in the west of the city the huge hospital complex in the north of the city the university and academic faculties in the centre and a few interim administrations in between! so its not a mean feat to run a consecutive and implementable ' plan ' …

but seeing as everyone on a salary these days  looks to me like an utter incompetent ! I thought I would kick this out …. as a simple single notion that took a bus ride to formulate …

the basic structure that stands almost derelict !! has fantastic potential … not only does it represent an architectural example of the faux commercialization of the 1980's - of Reagan and thatchers fiasco … that pretty much led us to where we are now !

I think that it would be a simple drive, a very cost effective drive … to turn the entire property into a kind of urban farm and botanical garden ( and in light of Brexit you probably should have done it when I first attempted to build a prototype for a similar notion out in belliver industrial estate back in 2011 )… the south and east facing glazed facades of the building are immediately obvious , its visual effect in the evening could be spectacular  and given the veritable spatial and economic successes of examples now seen the world over of ' re ruralisation ' initiatives … the scope of such a project really shouldn't be too hard to see !! encouraged by your pitiful provision of allotment spaces throughout the city and the whole ' grow for victory ' that every Churchillian brexiteer seems to be chanting about at this stage !

here it sits in its current rate …. you are selling all day parking for a fiver ! most of which remain empty … it has become a blight .. like the whole rest of union street ( and indeed much of the rest of the city you claim to manage )!! this used to be a thriving central hub of access and commerce !! WTF ??!!

anyway

how hard do you think it will be for a cross party collaboration into a ' P.O . Box ' ( Plymouths orangery Box ) a community backed educational / social housing / community farm and arts facility would be ??

could the universities botanical faculty and the eden projects community engagement platform …. coupled with the duchy college run inner city programmes ?? would that be that hard ?? this would not only offer additional cross syllabus resources … but a crucial carbon offset in an area of town where air quality is bloody horrible ….

an exceptionally low cost social housing and management system could be implemented for the many people in the city facing ever increasing rents and ever diminishing services and rights

you have just blown millions of pounds on refurbishing your box … offering assurances of a pitiful handful of vocational and training places !! its utterly pathetic !!!

an economic boost will be generated through the rendering of PRODUCE  … not fucking services !!!

Plymouth community homes would be able to offer a minimum of 150 low cost housing units ( which if managed properly could also offer commercial attraction to the area I;e atelier option . there would be local produce of extensive variety that would encourage additional local trade

do you see …. do you see how I would have been able to do that for about 70 grand … the botanical garden could have operated as a kind of temporary museum extension ( you see how during a bus journey I managed to come up with a functioning and accentuating name for a project ! as well as the damn project itself ) you would have been able to really pat your self on the back and said that you were '' preparing for Brexit '' … you were embracing the burgeoning resource based economy... that surely has to be the new economic model .. if we don't all want to die !!

Give Plymouth city council 500million and see what you get …

I could do a better job for far less ….. but isn't that just the way in this age of DONALD TRUMP A BREXIT GOVERNMENT, A PLASTIC ECONOMY … AN A POPULATION SO GRIPPED WITH AN OBSESSIVE COMPULSIVE AQUISITION DISORDER THAT NO ONE FACTORS THE BOMBING OF THE MIDDLE EAST INTO THE COST OF THEIR COMPLETELY UNDESERVED VACATIONS !!

THE AGE OF THE CHARLATAN !!! KEEP CALM AND CARRY ON

UURRRGGGHHHH !!! Additional Note !! of pertinence April 2019

So Friend of mine is now running in the local council elections ( I have seen a few of my contemporaries have a smash at it … and have actually been quite successful - which personally I can find utterly questionable within the confines of our current paradigm , and unfortunately I do keep an eye on political ' careers ' that grner very little change in anything ….at all !!

but this particular friend of mine is running as an independent ( something we need far more of - you see if labour feel under threat from independents it will encourage them to lean further to the left and we can shed some of those Blairite assholes that have buried themselves in like ticks ) which I absolutely advocate !! and I do completely advocate him as one of the most 100% genuine and respectable individuals I have ever met … a wonderful humanitarian human !!

during a recent consultation with him concerning the long term implementation of a viable and sustainable economic model not so heavily geared towards GDP analytics, we broached a few note worthy topics of point … and he requested a suggestive report offering insights into how Plymouth might implement an effective socio economic transition through a potential re ruralisation project

of course my first inclination was to blaze into a fiery rant about the political structures that keep enterprise of this very nature from securing ground anywhere but the damn internet ! I wavered and instead mumbled something about an archaic and out of touch political element that has rendered us all utterly incapable of accessing the resources to improve the given situation in its steady and unending decline ….

but despite my absolute state of burn out !! and exhaustion !! full on fatigue in this perpetual search to just secure a tiny bit of respite … because obviously just having somewhere affordable to live and work is far too much to ask … well certainly in the city of Plymouth any way …. I will have a punt at formulating something a little more coherent than my usual mad rant …. but lets keep it all well within character just in case some tory twat in tweed tries to waddle out f some back seat and try to claim some affiliative credit for backing ideas that actually they have been actively surpressing for years !! ( personally I think they should all be held to account and is often why they shy away from even asking for my well informed opinion … because I will usually start with … ''you are an overpaid piece of shit and you wouldn't know what to do with my idea if I offered you a paint by numbers, ikea version of it ….. '' - but I digress, turns out a thousand monkeys posing as civil servants cant produce a work of Shakespeare …. or a Valerio for that matter )

Plymouth as I previously mentioned is a problem of miniature integrative townships …. none of the jurisdictions or long term plans are ever negotiated ( to some degree I am sure due to MOD limitations on information release , and also the councils intrinsic desire to hide the odd ' grubby ' deal ….

there is some city plan from a million years ago by some ' institutionally esteemed ' architect .. whose grand scheme is to pull Plymouths Marine Heritage back into focus … or to Claw back some of the marine heritage …. some such nonsense that I am sure was probably the inspiration for the ' Royal William Yard ' Fiasco

these are all terrible ideas … borne from some predisposed ideologies that really don't age well !!

if we take a look at the basic graphic that I have prepared below

this image shows the Plymouth City Centre , the areas highlighted in red show the area of most intense structural augmentation ( the largest and most dominating edifices in Plymouths city scape : of course I am not acknowledging that plastic dildo you stuck in for student housing or whatever )

can you see the next most obvious element …. take your time children ….

green spaces … there is a great big imperial style lawn all over the prominade .. then you have a vacuous ' stream ' of green life running through the city from south to north ( although I am currently horrified to understand that your current ' system of management ' for this space is to eradicate it ?

which in a disjointed fashion leads on down to one of the main transport terminals in and out of the city , backdropped by central park at least !…. the train station !! assuming we are looking at reducing carbon emissions and unnecessary commutes by car ( by the way you really do have to have a look at the affordability of transport in this city … but I will come back to that later on )

really at this stage I just look at how much there is to do … the time within which it needs to be efficacious … and the half wit assortment of salary secured mooks , and enthusiastic but near destitute calibre of excellence that I have to work with... and I genuinely despair …. jeeeezus wept !!

ok oh well work with what you have got …. jjjjeeeeeeessssuuuuzzzz efffiinng wept !!!

alright !

your main problem that you have here is really a horrible great big domino effect …. that grotesquely and circuitously meanders and slithers its way into every bloody facet of this utter assholery !!

so where to start … I could point you in the direction of any of the open source community construction projects that I have been involved in , that are currently being implemented by more forward thinking urban planners … but lets spell it out for you like the morons you are !! you sit there on a salary … and once again I will be forced to come up the solutions for you …. for no fucking money …. jeeezuz I really do loath most of you !! why the hell should I care if you want to live in this urban ized dystopian nightmare that you have created …. and even brought fucking shares in !!! jeesus wept !!

no man … come on that's not the attitude !! athough the appeal of jumping in a boat and heading for the high seas as a sate less pirate feels more ' career advancing ' than dealing with any of this nonsense … or any of the assholes that need to be given a good kicking in order to jump start us to a place where we aren't doomed !!! after all even if I do take to the boat ,... I will have to come back onto dry land at some point after all !!

…… you know the very idea of this has pissed me off that much that I am not even going to try and do it all in one go back deckly

Many people I speak to assume that being an Artist is all very nice .... generally because great aunt murial paints and she is always going off on little artists retreats and whatnot! or its the stark opposite , people think that you have to live in squalor and be stark raving mad! truth is there are components of both in my existence x
