What a day, What a week , What a year ........

So the wife decides to go of the deep end of hippy and has to go and 'find herself ' in India ....throwing a great big spanner in a two year business implementation process ....

so what to do ...stick with the plan and open an Art school in Amsterdam of course x

just for fun........ the story so far .... because there are too many of my contemporaries would stop producing immediately in the face of such adversities .... hold fast ...and plough on my little middle class sweethearts x

So Now we have a Pirate ship .....

you know it occurred to me when the Tories ' got in ' to flee the country , there were of course myriad reasons to have less and less to do with a political system that had already tied to kill me once .... and that was for being foolish enough to attempt to run an Arts based humanitarian program in my home county.

and I said then that I was going to go for a bit of a walk about ... Amsterdam for 5 years then maybe Venice for 5 years , just opening little galleries and doing little workshops and sailing about ... but the original premise was for little ' Kajon ' a fine little vessel from Waterlooville ... which actually served its part very well, and was sold for a profit after quite a lot of modifications over a year .

ha ha ... so I said that I was leaving for about 5 - 10 years ... I figured it wold take at least two elections to get any semblance of sense again ..... and after that well I would either be able to just live and work peaceably or ....well I guess I would just have to come home and start a civil war ... in either instance I can see a great big pirate type ship to be a very useful asset !!

so over the summer of 2017 we are going to haul this monster 60 foot wooden vessel out of the water , we are going to completely repair and resurface the hull ...replacing any damaged and rotten timbers, we give the interior a complete overhaul and install a functioning office space and accommodation for 6 with full amenities and creature comforts ... maybe even a bath if we can muster the time ... once we have her back in the water I am going to wedge it into a sand bar in a beautiful wooded estuary valley ... and amid the berths on board and a few tipi's in the woods I am going to turn this poor neglected thing into a fantastic living breathing twin masted sailing vessel .... so this is going to be the base of our Art B & B project in cornwall for next summer ..... with my particular focus being on traditional joinery and ship building techniques ...for obvious reasons ! but still maintaining all the usual range in courses from traditional illustration and painting techniques to permaculture for urban spaces ....

places are limited for this week long getaway in the wilderness of the Cornish landscape, with fires on the shore at night to early morning tides and sunrises but the programme will be ongoing throughout the summer from april 2017 - September 2017 with prices starting from 135 euro per person per week including full instruction in basic use of traditional handtools and woodworking techniques as well as live demonstrations of the ongoing ' pirate ship ' conversion project , with onsite expert tuition and an environment that could easily elude you into thinking more treasure Island than Truro

 Hooray!! the mast and rigging are up ! although the state of the economy and brexit and the rise of the right wing have been working against the progress of any project , especially one such as my little ongoing concerns x and people like the Guardian National Newspaper and online voluntary based donation programs for things like ' another angry voice ' are all vying for whatever junk change donations people have got left on the hip ( inspite of keeping a little robin hood crowd funding campaign live, I hardly ever have the time to promote these online begging techniques !) ..... it seems its a bit tricky to deter the genuinely determined ..... this summer is going to be a mad little series of barely funded excursions , to maintain the virtual and physical presence of my own little unbranded brand across the crumbling derelict that was once the united kingdom and of course across the remains of mainland Europe to keep emphasising that kids should be protesting student fees , and the general commercialization of the conventional academic paradigm, the poor quality and provision of social programs including housing - health care... anti gentrification campaigns ..... actually I cant think of many things at the moment that aren't worth shaking some inbred tory entitled bitch or even worse a salary secure mook that would perpetrate the insidious mantras of that ilk .... indeed everywhere I look there is a reason to stick your heels in the ground turn to an oppressive force and state with absolute conviction '' Fuck Off ''

so regardless of how much facebook and the like tend to keep my little profiles on the fringe ( because I refuse to pay for advertising and agency ), no matter how often I go online and find some upper middle class asshole has basically trawled through my online content and managed to carve some diluted article out of it and pandered it as their own work .... for a fee no doubt ..... this work just keeps going ( born on the principle of passion not profit ) the pirate ship project was a drastic reappraisal of what a person without a safety net might accomplish when circumstances almost induce actual death !! and now I am turning this gut wrenching set of experiences into a means to inspire the creative types to really embrace the creative tendency ..... if you are still sat in front of a screen ...or trying to turn some incessant debt into some form of conventional education ! ... if you think that thereasa may or boris Johnson are a safe pair of hands , and are compelled to work in some zero tax minimum wage corporation to pay over inflated property prices..... then eventually I will be coming to get you too ...... because this shit just wont do , and its gone on far too long now !!

big love to all the groovers, the movers, the shakers .... the real art makers, that I developed this mad series of eccentricities to invigorate and inspire ... and why I still feel justified to call it Real Art News ..... because pretty paintings and a nice portfolio are all well and good ..... but there is much more afoot than trying to get some pastey white bread soulless corporate creep to buy into your work ... so that you too can go and file your self on the edge of a world gone quite mad !

when potential customers come and say ' oh I work for .... the bank / the financial services / nike / coca cola / the council or the government .... instead of falling over myself to pander to their custom ... I still say '' that isn't something to brag about these days !! '' and suggest that they go and do something useful instead .... and then I will suggest that they buy a painting to look at while they mull it over x

so right ...

I know some of you read these little public digital diary entries I make from time to time ...

so you might have a rough idea of some of my background

you maybe sussed that I developed and perfected a progressive yet identifiable style of work by the age of 14

you might be aware that I started designing theme parks before I sat my exams at 16

I am sure you might have loosly heard that I was acredited with architectural design awards for public spaces before I was 25

I stayed for a couple of weeks at Hunter S Thompsons Woody Creek Ranch In Colorado ... which was ...interesting

I stayed for some weeks at the Lenkiewicz Studio in Plymouth while I was a transient Art Student ... I called him a tramp and he referred to me a s a tramp in training ... and we were friends until he died

I think that mobile phones are bad luck ...

I once lived in London ...Never Again !

I still enjoy climbing trees , cliffs and mountains

I Fought and won a landrace against a corporate developer in order to preserve architectural, historical and  cultural heritage sites

I think that walking is one of the noblist and humblist things a person can do ... to traverse the world by only your own means of propulsion .... as well as itt improving your health and being rather medatative

I am certain you know that after working a little bit of corporate .... a litle bit of government I decided it was all a bloody farce

that I would openly endorse the outside ... and 3 dimensional experiences over movies and virtual gaming any day

I dont ever go to the gym ... but have been told I still look pretty good naked ... but its mostly from having to traverse great distances on foot ... under a heav burden of stock

I could 3 d print shit ... but somehow it just isnt the same as sustaining an  injury through cleaving at a chunk of wood with a big bowie knife

I worked extensively on eco urban schemes of various scales in varios countries ... again only to be disheartened when some corporate ass decimates the design with some new economically improved spec that should be re worked into and effectively ruining the design

whilst running Galleries I have refused to sell work to individuals based on a series of reasons ... none of them I have ever regreted ....and indeed even been arested for having a fist fight with a police officer

in the idea of siezing the means of production ... I have always been fiercley independent whilst simultaneosly being open to diverse collaborations ..
but ... I always hand produce all of my own products, signages ... write my own material ... and refuse to pay what I consider to be the percentage people .... the non producers ... so I never pay for advertising likes or followers ... so art and design by Valerio ... is just that ... a rare thing these days that will always insist on maintaining !

my workshops in Plymouth became one of the very last opperating occupy camps after a dispute with the local authority forced me to place an embargo on all transactions until the matter was eventally resolved in my favor ..... all the while remaining entirely self representing ... a harrowing experience and a hell of a learning curve

I designed and built many anatomical  palaeontological representations in circulation for educational purposes ... and when I have the time I do still enjoy producing replicas ... and even engageing in scientific excavations and retreivals for genuine specimens from the field

I lived on a sail boat for a year and sailed around the south west coast of England ... painting and distributing works to galleries ... while I was saving the money to move to the Netherlands

so when I google the name Artby Valerio .... or Valerio ... there is ... well actually, there is one guy that does stained glass ... which fair ... at least he is an artist ... with a body of work ... I dont mind sharing google resluts with this guy

but there is another one ... I dont know who he is ... or where he came from ... seeing as I dont engage at all in the celebrity sensationalism that this guy seems to buzz arond and exist in .... you know I have not seen an aired television programme in ... I think 7 years .... .... he actuually even looks a little bit like me ... well ... in a sort of mildly dilluted way ..... but this guy is everywhere ... and he seems to be copying me to maybe an embarrassing level ... I dont mind the flattery .... but this is a littlle bit wierd .... someone has taken ... who I am ... and what I do ... and they seem to be branding it better than me ... and certainly marketing it with more success .... I think this is just a sign of the times ... artist equivalent of Tesla for hire anyone x
